Dola Adeyekun is a qualified Youth and Community Worker with over 17 years experience working with Children and Young people from diverse backgrounds in both statutory and non-statutory organisations.
Some of the job roles on her portfolio is work as a Personal Advisor to Young People leaving care, a role which involved advocating, befriending, mentoring and supporting young people, She has also worked as a Senior Early Help Worker, preventing or minimising the risk of problems arising or escalating for children and young people, especially those that are seen as vulnerable.
She was also the Head of the Children & Youth Ministry of Christ Embassy Bermondsey for 4 years.
She currently works in the community supporting both young people and the elderly, advocating for them, teaching life skills, mentoring, empowering them and enabling their independence within their designated or preferred environment. She also does some voluntary mentoring programme with some young people in Nigeria and is studying for a certificate in Counselling.
Dola is passionate about young people and believes that with the right information and good guidance, they will be empowered to make the right choices and achieve positive outcomes.
She is looking forward to reaching more young people through Scanning Young Minds to positively influence and effect changes where necessary.
